Future Hope FC Wins 22nd Abagana Unity Cup Competition

Future Hope Football Club has won the twenty second Abagana,Njikoka Council Area, Unity Championship Cup Competition.

Ogbuefi Football Club came second while Akajiugo/Ngige Football Club took third position in the football competition.

The championship competition which was sponsored by Abagana Youths Association, Lagos branch, was to bring the youths together to champion unity of purpose, get them out of streets through sports and to promote brotherliness amongst them.

Speaking shortly after the tournament, the President, Abagana Youths Association, Lagos Branch, Mr. Peter Igboaka said all the nine villages that make up Abagana Community were represented in the competition so as to get Abagana people together to have one agenda, mind and mission.

The Chairman, Abagana Youths Association Board of Trustees, Mr. Amechi Obuka who was the first chairman of the youths said, the competition which started, twenty-two years ago, has continued to impact positively in the lives of the youths as many of them including Chikelue Iloanyasi, Uche Okonkwo and many others are now doing well, noting that they want to inspire more youths to explore their potential .

He encouraged them to always come together, eschew bitterness and rancor, ensure that love and unity prevail as well be of immense help to each other while focusing on how to make Abagana great to reflect the subreque which says ‘‘Abagana Bu Enyi’’.

While thanking Lagos Branch Youths for their zeal and aspirations to see they are united, the coach of Future Hope Football Club, Mr. Chukwunweike Obiora-Anigboh, disclosed that the team has been championing peace and have worked hard to ensure that they excel, reminding the team that football is a game of discipline therefore, they should not feel pompous rather abide by the spirit of sportsmanship and extend love.

Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that the Future Hope Football Club that took first position, went home with trophy and five hundred thousand naira, the second position which is Ogbuefi Football Club, went with medals and a token of three hundred thousand naira while the third, Akajiugo/Ngige rejoiced home with two hundred thousand naira.
