Some members of the All-Progressives Congress, APC, have decamped to the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, at Nanka Ward One, Orumba North Local Government Area.

The decamperes, who were led by the Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Community Liason, Chief Emeka Nnebe, declared their membership of APGA at the Nanka, hometown of Dr Josephat Akabuike, the Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka.

Correspondent Daniel Ezeigwe  reports that Orumba North is one of the political hotbeds in Anambra State, with notable political stalwarts.

While seasoned politician, Mrs. Constance Ilo joined from the APC alongside few others, an American-based pediatrician, Dr Odira Nwankwo joined as a new member.

Welcoming the new members, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on Inter-Party Affairs, Chief Ben Obi, said that the party is always looking for people, who have something unique to offer, assuring them that though they are new, an equal playing field is available to them to pursue their ambitions, but without undermining the overall interest of the party.

On his part, Dr Akabuike noted that APGA is not just a political movement, but an ideology that breathes the Igbo redemption, urging the new members to give in their best for the continuous growth of the party.

For Chief Nnebe, APGA provides the right platform for everyone and runs an exemplary pattern of association and internal democracy, a formula that other political parties have yet to evolve .

The new members, Mrs. Ilo and Dr Nwankwo in their remarks, said that APGA is the right movement to identify with, not just for its exploits in Anambra State, but because it walks on inclusive ideology and equal opportunities for all members.

They pledged to bring their experience on board and play desired function that would make the party stronger.

The new APGA members were later adorned with the party’s uniform and presented with membership card.
