The Chaplain, Saint Aloysius Gonzoga Chaplaincy Ukwulu, Reverend Father Nick Okekeocha says baptism of Jesus Christ reminds Christians that through baptism they are cleansed from original sin and made children of God and members of the church.
Reverend Father Okekeocha stated this in a homily while celebrating mass as the church commemorates the baptism of Jesus Christ which was the beginning of his public ministry.
He asked Christians to live out their baptismal vows and commitments by being faithful to God their father and reject Satan and all fetish practices prevalent in today’s society, reminding them that baptism is a sacrament of salvation and foundation of all graces necessary for the salvation of mankind.
The Archdeacon, Mbaukwu Archdeaconry and Vicar Saint Lawrence Anglican Church, Mbaukwu, Venerable David Ezeobi, called on Christians to be appreciative, thankful and show gratitude to God at all times.
Venerable Ezeobi whose sermon centered on “Possessing the gate” noted that Christians should not wear complaints all the time, rather be thankful unto God for the gift of life and other things he blessed them with.
Venerable Ezeobi noted that praises, thanksgiving from inner most heart and sacrifices are required of Christians stating that when they do so, they are working out their salvation and attracting supernatural blessings from God
Also, at the Redeem Christian Bible Church of God, Fruitful Hills Assembly, Pastor Okay Agbamgbo, noted that successful life attained is not measured by wealth but by many souls helped and smiles added to people’s faces.
Pastor Akpamgbo maintained that for one to have a blissful year, he or she must impact in the life of the poor, destitute and the physically challenged, pointing out that arms giving is the core mandate given to them by God.
