The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, has urged delegates to the Fourth Session of the Nigeria-Jamaica Joint Commission, to ensure that they have mechanisms in place to implement what they sign up to.

The two-day joint meeting is expected to present practical approaches to cementing already existing bilateral agreements between the two countries and forging new ones.
The Minister, who said both countries are related based on colonial history noted that Jamaica may possibly be Nigeria’s hub for economic flight.
He said the meeting will also look at opportunities in vegetation, agriculture, energy, migration, technology transfers among others and asked delegates to work hard to cement the relationship.
In her remark, Jamaica’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ms. Kamina Smith, said as they look forward to identifying new areas for cooperation, her country is committed to engagements that will upscale historical and long-standing relations with the view to revitalizing and expanding them.
