Long life mostly inspires celebration when one joins his or her ancestors.

This was demonstrated, when Okoye-Onyidobu family of Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area, surrounded by friends, relatives, and well-wishers paid their last respect to the Late Mrs Obiageli Okoye-Onyidobu, who died at the age of ninety-one.

Correspondent Chibuzor Obidike reports that the late Nneoma Okoye-Onyidobu left seven children, nineteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many in-laws and relations to mourn her death.

According to testimonies, the deceased was a devout Christian, who made positive impact in her community and among her peers, earning her the nickname “Acha Nwanyị”.

At her funeral service, the officiating Priest, Venerable Emma Onyemauche commended the Okoye-Onyidobu family for celebrating and caring for their late mother over the years, and advised children to always remember their parents, especially the old ones, in order to be blessed with long life.

He acknowledged that the sacrifices of the deceased were not in vain, as according to him, she reaped the fruits of her good labour before her death.

For the son of the deceased, Comrade Mike Okoye and her first daughter, Mrs Eunice Nonyelum, their mother lived a fruitful life, committed to her faith in God, and appreciated clergymen, relatives, in-laws and well-wishers for coming to console  them, assuring that they would continue to show the humility and love their late mother left as legacies.

Sharing personal experiences with the late Mrs Okoye-Onyidobu as members of women groups in the Church, Mrs Ebele Enekwechi pointed out that the deceased was a true Christian, who supported everyone and lived an upright life.

She prayed God to accept her soul and also encouraged her family to follow her footsteps.
