The Anambra state government has presented certificate of recognition to Igwe Daniel Obele as the Traditional ruler of Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area.
Again, Correspondent, Ngozi Obileri who covered the event reports that the presentation ceremony took place at the office of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Greg Obi.
Igwe Daniel Obele is now to be addressed as Ezeudo one of Nawfia, being his chosen title name as the new Traditional ruler of the community.
Presenting the certificate on behalf of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Obi, Mr Gerald Akaeze said having satisfied the necessary requirements as contained in Customary law of the State and Traditional rulers Act section 4, 5, 6 1981, Governor Willie Obiano decided to acknowledge his position as the Traditional ruler of Nawfia community by certifying him worthy of the position.
Responding, Igwe Obele expressed gratitude to Anambra state government for recognizing him as the monarch of Nawfia community.
Igwe Obele said that he is ready to work with every member of the community to ensure growth and development of the town.
On his part, a stakeholder in the community, Mr Gabriel Udogu said that he is happy that at last, peace has returned to their community, and assured that they are ready to give the new Traditional ruler every support he will need to enthrone peace and stability in Nawfia.
Igwe Obele served as a former Ambassador in sitting in Nigeria, and currently a Ph.D holder.
