Anambra state government recently commenced construction of a full-fledged general hospital at Eziagulu-Otu Aguleri in Anambra East local government area of the state.

The area, which is the remotest in Anambra East local government area, has no healthcare institution to take care of healthcare needs of the people, hence the approval for the construction of a general hospital for people of the area by the administration of former Governor Willie Obiano.

She noted that it will be the desire of people of the area to see the hospital built and equipped, stating that the ministry will introduce the project to the Professor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration to fast-track its completion, advising Ndi Eziagulu-Otu Aguleri to take ownership of the project for timely completion according to design.
The Traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Lawrence Nwofia, who noted that people of the area die in avoidable circumstances due to lack of healthcare services, commended former Governor Obiano for the initiative.
On his part, a chieftain of the community and former national President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Chief Alex Onukwue maintained that healthcare services are of great importance to the people, stating that they will collaborate with the ministries of housing and health to ensure that the project is completed according to design and on schedule.
Also commending the former Governor Obiano and the state government for the vision, the President General of the community, Honourable Ignatius Nwabude assured that the community will provide protection and security for the project, calling on the youths of the area to come together and assist in that regard, even as the people of Eziagulu-Otu Aguleri and indeed the entire Aguleri-Otu are in high spirit that soon their lives will become better when the project is completed.
