Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, has disclosed its readiness to partnership critical stakeholders and corporate organizations in organizing training for motorists across the state.

 

The sector commander, Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi, who disclosed this in an ABS Radio and Television Programme, Tonimas half hour, maintained that the reason for the partnership is due to the cost implication of organizing the seminar for drivers.

 

He cautioned Motorists against making and answering calls while driving adding that the FRSC has set up mobile courts across the state to try and prosecute such offenders.

 

Mr. Irelewuyi further stated that apart from the planned seminar, officers and men of the commission will be visiting some churches and motor parks to enlighten the people on various road safety measures while Road Safety Clubs would be re-introduced in schools and colleges to enable pupils and students learn road safety measures from the cradle.

 

He commended the immediate past Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Dr Uche Nworah for his innovations in the establishment as well as the Acting Managing Director, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze on his new appointment, expressing confidence that he will no doubt achieve the needed result in ABS calling on the staff to rally round his administration.

 

Some callers on the programme including Reverend Innocent Oguejiofr from Oji River in Enugu State, commended the FRSC for its efforts in reducing carnage on highways calling for its sustainability.
