The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo has maintained that the agitation of the South East and other related matters including the release of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be negotiated.

Governor Soludo who stated this during the town hall meeting he had with the market leaders and leaders of different transport unions in Awka noted that violence will not resolve the problem.

Government House correspondent Valentine Mbadugha reports that Governor Soludo maintained his stand that he endorsed the recent statement made on March 7, 2022 by the Joint Body of South East Council of Traditional Rulers and Archbishops and Bishops on Peace and Conflict Resolution, requesting for a tripartite discussion between them, the Presidency, and South East governors to deal with the conflicts in the South East especially in relation to Nnamdi Kanu, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN.

The Governor called on Igbo brothers to sheath their swords as his administration does not encourage shedding of blood of any sort.

Maintaining that Anambra has all it takes to be great, Governor Soludo, noted that everyone is important to the development of Anambra State.

He reiterated the commitment of the State Government to phase out the old method of revenue collection adding that new method which would be deployed in no distant time will leverage the use of technology and ensure that a larger percentage of government revenues from this source fully comes into government coffers for effective use.

The Governor agreed with the Market and Transport union leaders to put an end to the “Monday sit at home” that has proven to be counter-productive.

According to Governor Soludo, Anambra people are losing productive hours and competitiveness to the activities of criminal elements who have taken advantage of the self-defeating strategy to destroy the economy of the State and maintained that such must stop forth with.
