A non-governmental organization, “Lovecare for the Needy Foundation”, in partnership with Sharing Life Issues with Ifeomamebe, has celebrated fifth anniversary.

 

The event, held in Awka, was to thank the audience that has followed the program since its five years on air, and to also launch a book.

 

Blessing Uchendu  reports that Sharing Life Issues with Ifeomamebe is a raido programme on Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, while Lovecare for the Needy Foundation is a non-governmental organization which takes care of the wellbeing of indigent people and the disabled.

The organiser of the event, who is also the founder and presenter of the radio program, Mr Okechukwu Ojiako popularly known as Ifeomamebe, in his remarks, explained that no religion is greater than humanitarian service, a reason to always reach out to those in need.

 

Mr Ojiako, who said that he has been on the humanitarian journey for the past twenty-three years, noted that followers of the program on air, cut across all social strata , emphasizing that the organization serves as bridge between the needy and affluent individuals willing to give succour to people.

 

On his part, the chairman on the occasion, Chief Chinwuba Ojua, commended ABS and the presenter for the program, and called for collective intention from both the government and willing individuals to help those in need.

Others who spoke to the ABS including, Chief Pius Obiakonwa, a former President General of Abatete Development Union, Mr Chris Ezenwafor, the Director of Commercial Services, ABS, Mrs Beatrice Akwanamnye among others, commended Ifeomamebe for his programme and called on wealthy individuals to renew efforts at touching lives, as, according to them, the joy of giving is immeasurable.

 

Reviewing a book titled “My Culture and Tradition, Season Two” written by Ifeomamebe, Professor Chukwudi Nwike from Federal Technical College, Umunze, said that the book is a reminder to Ndigbo not to allow their culture and tradition to go into extinction.

 

Some of the beneficiaries of the program, Mr Sunday Muozoba from Adazi Nnukwu and Chukwuebuka Mbonu, Orumba North Council Area among others, appreciated the host and attested that their lives have been touched positively through the program.

The event featured award presentation to the supporters of the radio program, sharing of clutches to the disabled as well as performance by Osinachi Ogene music group.
