Ndi Anambra have been cautioned against non participation in the monthly environmental sanitation exercise.
Monitoring the exercise in parts of Awka and environs, the Anambra State Ministry of Environment observed that this month’s environmental sanitation exercise recorded little or no participation, which it said contravened the State government’s directive that residents must embark on sanitation exercise between eight and ten o’clockin the morning every last Saturday of the month.
According to the leader of the team Mr. Pascal Okafor who said that most persons only closed shops but failed to participate in the sanitationexercise, pointed out that the Ministry will apply all necessary measures to ensure full compliance.
He frowned at the non-compliance by transporters, malls and public buildings.
Mr Okafor said the Ministry will in due time serve such defaulters demand notices and asked residents of the State to respect and care for their surroundings.
