Mothers have been charged to remain resolute in their God-given responsibility of ensuring that their homes are well netted for the glory of God.

 

The Vicar in charge of the Stephen’s Anglican Church Inland town Onitsha, Venerable Izuchukwu Obiekwe, who gave the charge while addressing women of the church on this year’s mothers Sunday, advised mothers to build Godly homes and challenged them to remain focused in training their children in the way of the Lord for a better Society.

 

Contributing, the Archdeacon’s wife, Ify charged mothers to obey and take delight in God’s commandment to enable their children achieve greatness, and challenge parents to let their children recognise the benefits of embracing and focusing on God in all situations.

 

Mrs. Obiekwe, who spoke extensively on the topic “Intentional parenting” stressed the need for parents to inculcate good moral values in their children, let them know that there is dignity in hard work, as well as teach them to respect the house of God, elders, men and women of God.

 

Also speaking, the president of Onitsha Anglican women Association, Mrs. Chinwe Mbanugo urged mothers to embrace God totally in order to raise godly children, regretting increase of evil in the society, which she blamed on mothers who shy away from the responsibility of good parenting.

 

A member of Onitsha North Transition Committee, Honorable Sunday Ogazi said based on the pivotal role mothers play in the society, there is need for them to be celebrated, urging them not to relent and always seek the grace of God as they discharge duties to their families.
