The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Senator Victor Umeh has declared his interest to contest the 2023 general election to represent Anambra Central Senatorial District at red chamber of the national assembly under the platform of APGA.
Senator Umeh declared his interest before the five hundred and forty-five APGA principal officers of the one hundred and nine wards in Anambra Central Senatorial District.
Interacting with the party officials in his country home at Aguluzigbo, Anaocha local government area, Senator Umeh noted that his mission is to serve not only Anambra Central Senatorial District; but the entire Igbo nation.
He harped on the need for Ndigbo to send courageous people with loud voice at the Senate and promised quality representation; especially with regards to issues concerning the Igbo extraction; including the structural imbalance that has threatened the peace and unity of the nation.
Describing the support from the Anambra central stakeholders as unanimous and overwhelming, which was why he accepted the call on him to contest, Senator Umeh assured that he will not disappoint Ndi Anambra central and Ndigbo at large, and also promised to use his wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise to attract greater development to South East region.
Responding, the Ward Chairman of Chairmen in Anambra state, Mr. Uchenna Ezeoke noted with every sense of responsibility that Senator Umeh has done well as a party man and as a Senator at the eighth Assembly.
He assured him of their support, and harped on the need for APGA to show capacity in the coming general elections.
For the APGA Vice Chairman, Central, Chief Theofine Nnoli, Anambra Central Senatorial District has the best in Senator Umeh, and cannot afford to loose this chance of setting standard as was done in the Anambra state governorship election
The Woman leader of Umuoji ward, Mrs. Ethel Atuokwu said that women are happy with Senator Umeh’s decision to contest, and promised their unalloyed support; while the Ukwulu ward two Chairman, Mr. Amaechi Uzodigwe encouraged the party members help APGA grow stronger by producing leaders of high standards, maintaining that Senator Umeh represents Igbo interest.
