Nkwado-Odimma Uli Forum is a socio-ethnic organisation comprising of reputable men and women who have set a common collective vision of bringing all round development to their town, Uli.
As a people of strong will, after stakeholders meeting convened by the President General of Uli Progressive Union, Engineer Tobias Obiagazie, Dr. ABC Orjiako (KSGG), a man whose magnanimity has helped Anambra State in various fronts personally donated twenty million naira, while G-15, a forum of resourceful individuals from Uli town raised about thirty million naira, including sums raised at the palace of His Royal Highness Igwe Magnus Onyekonwu, the Igwe Uli in regency. The fund raised was used to fix vandalized transformers and aid the restoration of electricity to the community.
Members of this noble forum have embarked on vital projects out of their own goodwill, under the able leaderships of Honourable Nwabunwanne Akunne Ikenwokwu, the Secretary-General and Fire Service Station Building Committee Chairman, Comrade Don Cross Ekwughalu and Honourable B. C. O Uzoma respectively. Critical amongst these landmark projects include; Installation of speed bumps along the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University road, Uli Campus. Scores of lives have been saved through this project.
Installation of solar street lights in all the major and feeder roads in Uli at an estimated tune of fifty million naira. The first phase has been aptly consummated, and we are still appealing to magnanimous individuals for support in order to complete the second and, of course, the third phase dignifiedly. Also included are solar street lights at Uli Divisional Police Station, and Uli Modern Bus Station.
The on-going Uli Federal Fire Service Station which will serve the entire Ihiala Local Government Area and beyond upon completion, was attracted by Nkwado-Odimma Uli Forum through one of the illustrious sons of the land, Honourable B. C. O Uzoma whose contributions to the development of Uli town has remained unrivalled. This project, when completed, will give Uli people at least forty percent job slots. The structure, including landscaping and all external beautification will cost the forum an estimated sum of million naira.
Once fully operational, the forum picks up another project as it is poised to uphold the mantra “Uli Ga-aburiri Oka-Ibe”. This forum of noble characters became a reality through the instrumentality of some gallant men and elegant ladies who form the Executive Council through which all the people-oriented programs are shouldered.
Nkwado-Odimma Uli Forum also seizes this medium to heartily congratulate the brand new Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the people’s governor, in whom we repose our unadulterated trust and confidence, knowing fully well that he has the mental toughness, political sagacity, economic ingenuity and transformational will to make Anambra State an economic hub in Nigeria, where Uli is a critical stakeholder. Anambra State is the luckiest state in Nigeria to have been blessed by a man of excellent probity like Professor C.C Soludo, a man who keeps his words.
We take huge pride reliving your achievements: a first class honours graduate of economics from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, during your time, became a professor at the age of thirty-four, a two-time winner of best Central Bank Governor of the year award, consulted for over twenty-five countries on economic and financial matters, among litany of accolades. Sir, you have started well, especially using Innoson Motors as the official government vehicle, and going to Okpoko and Onitsha South, as promised during your campaign. This shows who you truly are and we will continue to pray and support you.
We urge Ndi Anambra to support our beloved son who has the interest of our people at heart, knowing that he cannot do it alone. From our end, we assure him of our unalloyed support anytime. Prof C.C Soludo is indeed a prayer truly answered.
