Governor Chukwuma Soludo has condemned the burning of Nnewi South local government headquarters and killing of a security man by hoodlums.
Government House Correspondent, Valentine Mbadugha reports that Governor Soludo made the condemnation when he visited the scene of the attack where he promised that security agencies will get to the root of the matter.
The incident, which occurred at mid night Wednesday , also led to the destruction of works department, education, traditional rulers’ council, public complaints commission and property department offices.
In his speech after inspecting the affected buildings, Governor Soludo described the incident as a very sad one and emphasized that security agencies will get to the root of the matters.
The Governor regretted that the common man will be at the receiving end of the unfortunate incident, regretting that money that should be used to provide basic infrastructures would now be used to rebuild the offices.
He encouraged Ndi Anambra to be strong as no amount of arson and bloodletting will prevail over the spirit of Ndi Anambra, adding that Anambra will continue to get better and stronger.
While noting that Ndi Anambra respect sanctity of human life, Governor Soludo maintained that no circumstance should result to such lawlessness and bloodletting, and reiterated his resolve to restore law and order in the state for the sake of the people.
The Governor equally sympathized with the family of the security man who lost his life in the ugly incident and called for a collective effort to restore peace and sanity in Anambra state.
