The Supervising Permanent Secretary, Anambra State Ministry of Works, Dr. Laz Okafor has officially resumed work yesterday ll.
Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye reports that speaking to the ABS shortly after moving round the ministry for on-the-spot assessment, Dr. Okafor said that after his redeployment from his former ministry, he decided to start work immediately in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of being responsive to duty.
The Permanent Secretary noted that he interacted with the members of staff of the ministry on the need for them to be punctual and dedicated to their work, saying that he will not tolerate truancy under any guise.
Dr. Okafor who promised that he will take the issue of workers welfare seriously, promised that he will instill duty consciousness and due diligence in service delivery among the staff in the ministry.
On his part, the Acting Director of Administration in the ministry, Mrs Tessy Emenike assured that they will give the new Permanent Secretary maximum support for him to succeed.
