The Provost, Federal College of Education Technical, Umunze, Dr Tessy Okoli, has stated that a happy staff will always be a productive staff.

Dr Okoli was speaking when the Anambra State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, paid her a courtesy visit in her office at the institution.

Correspondent Queen Anigbogu reports that Dr Okoli, who identified staff welfare as her priority, noted that when staff are given their dues, they will work more for their institutions.

While agreeing to attend to the requests brought before her by the NUJ, Dr Okoli, stressed that the institution needs more interventions from the federal government in the areas of construction of network of roads and tackling erosion problem in the college.

Earlier, the chairman, NUJ Anambra State Council, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, commended the provost for bringing a new lease of life in the institution especially in the areas of staff welfare and other laudable projects.

He invited her to the forthcoming Media Summit of the council saying it will provide her an opportunity to market her efforts in the institution.

Also speaking, the Deputy Provost, Dr. Christopher Ugwuogor, assured the readiness of the institution to partner the NUJ.

In a vote of thanks, the Vice-Chairman of the council, Comrade Ngozi Obileri, thanked the institution for the warm reception and commended the provost for the synergy between her and her management team.
