Staff of the Anambra Broadcasting Service have been charged to key into the programme and policy trust of the Soludo administration, with a view to communicating same to the grassroots, and other stakeholders.
The Acting Managing Director of the establishment, Mr Gab Okpalaeze gave the charge during his maiden meeting with staff of the Programmes department in Awka.
Emmanuel Chigbata reports that the acting Managing Director assured that the establishment will continue to work in line with the policies of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo noting that his trust on infrastructure, human capital development and projecting local goods and culture will remain on front burner.
He charged the staff to live up to responsibility in discharging their duties professionally, adding that producing good content targeted at the grassroots will not only attract more audience, but will generate more funds for the establishment.
Mr. Okpalaeze who used the opportunity to direct producers and presenters to join in canvassing for sponsorship of programmme from the good people of the state, added that the establishment will not relent in marketing their products globally in returns.
He announced plans to launch a new programme called ‘Golden Palour’ while an hour radio television phone in programme will come on air monthly, for Governor Soludo to parley with the people of the State.
On her part, the Director of Programmes, Mrs. Nneka Ekwunife, called on the staff to redouble efforts and work assiduously for the establishment, stressing on the need for the programmes department to produce content that would increase the audience of ABS, and by extension, shore up her revenue base.
Others, who spoke during the meeting, including, the Vice President, Radio, Television Theatre and Art Workers Union, RATTAWU in the South- East zone, Prince Emeka Kalu, Deputy Director of Programmes, Mr Roy Ekwunife, two presenters Mr. Eze Onwuji and Onyekachukwu Ugochukwu, among others, made contributions on ways to move the establishment forward.
