The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor has urged Nigerians to make the interest of the nation a priority in all their endeavours, despite the religious and political differences.
In his Easter message, Right Honourable Okafor noted that Easter offers Nigerians the opportunity to reflect on their lives, adding that since Jesus Christ triumphed over death, Christians and non-Christians alike are expected to overcome corruption and other social vices.
The Speaker urged political office holders to take a cue from the selflessness and sacrifice made by Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind, by eschewing all forms of political, social and religious vices in the interest of peace and progress of the country, even as he urged affluent citizens to commit part of their God’s given wealth to touch the lives of the poor in their midst positively.
Right Honourable Okafor while wishing Ndi Anambra a happy Easter celebration, enjoined them to use the period to show more love to one another and generate the much-needed support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
The Speaker who called on Ndi Anambra, especially different religious bodies in the state to continue to pray for the peace and progress of the state, prayed to God to give Governor Soludo the grace and enablement to pilot the affairs of the state creditably.
