The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Anambra State Chapter has presented a cheque for one million, five hundred thousand naira to Comrade Osita David Onuko in support of his political ambition.

Correspondent Joseph Egbeocha reports that Comrade Onuko, who hails from Umudioka Village Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area, is contesting for the Anambra State House of Assembly seat to represent Awka South Constituency One.

In his opening remark at the event, the former chairman, who is currently the chairman, Elders Advisory Council of NYCN, Anambra State Chapter, Honourable Nwabufo Nwankwo said seriousness can be seen in Comrade Onuko’s political ambition, the reason youths from all parts of the state are mobilizing support for his aspiration.

On their parts, the chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra State chapter, Comrade Samuel Egwuatu, and a member of NYCN, Anambra State chapter, Comrade Damian Ukatu described Comrade Onuko as a great mobilizer, noting that the support from NYCN is because of his antecedents in the youth’s body, urging Awka South One Constituents to give him the needed support to succeed in his mandate, which they described as divine.

Others, who spoke at the event, including Honourable Ugochukwu Nwimo, Comrades Emeka Oyeoka and Chiamaka Osakwe called on Awka South one Constituents to give Comrade Onuko needed support to achieve his political ambition, since it is for the good of the constituents.

Speaking after he received the cheque, Mr. Onuko, who thanked members for their show of support, described it as the first in the history of NYCN.

He explained that his over twelve years in the affairs of the youth body has prepared him for the task of helping Governor Chukwuma Soludo make Anambra a livable and prosperous state, with emphasis on providing effective and unprecedented representation to Awka South Constituency One.

Mr. Onuko noted that politicking is not usually easy for the young and promised to bring purposeful leadership that will inspire youths to develop interest in bettering the society through politics.
