It is over one month since the dawn of the new government in Anambra State.

Already, there seem to be movements, with Professor Chukwuma Soludo waltzing strongly to redeem the pledge he made to Ndi Anambra during last year’s governorship election in Anambra State.

Correspondent Daniel Ezeigwe reports that  Ndi Anambra, especially those who are paying close observation to government policies, believe that though it is still too early for assessments, the new administration has shown glitters of purpose.

One of such observers is Chief Innocent Chiekezie, who;/ that the new government has thrown a good first step with Okpoko cleanup and appointment of capable hands, but called for patience as the drive to good governance usually takes time.

Chief Chiekezie, stated that Professor Soludo has been able to select those with impressive records to work alongside him, the first clue about his philosophy of credibility, hard work and focus.

In an interview, Dr Anthony Ezekwugo, a German-based professional from Nnokwa, Idemili South Local Government Area, said that Professor Soludo’s idea of a smart megacity goes well with the modern leadership style that incorporates a technological approach to problem-solving.

Dr Ezekwugo said that effective collaboration between the state government and foreign-based professionals from Anambra State would also be crucial to achieving a twenty-first-century city.

On his part, the Anambra South Commander of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade, Mr Emmanuel Obi, noted that Professor Soludo has been very strategic in confronting the environmental issues faced by not just Okpoko, but Onitsha and its environs.
