It was a moment of thanksgiving, eulogies and praises to God as the Queen of Omogho community, in Orumba North Local Government Area, Lady Monica Offor marked her eightieth birthday anniversary in grand style.
Lady Monica , who is the wife of the Traditional ruler of Omogho, Igwe Raphael Offor celebrated the birthday with a pontifical holy mass officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Most Reverend Peter Okpaleke, in company of her children, in-laws, Reverend Fathers and Sisters, Ndi Omogho, well wishers, among others.
Correspondent, Chibuzor Okoye reports that speaking during the holy mass to commemorate the birthday anniversary, Bishop Okpaleke, who said that longevity only comes from God, commended the celebrant for her great services to the church and humanity over the years, and prayed God to continue to give her long life and sound health.
The Ekwulobia Diocesan Catholic Bishop, who said that social environment, eating habits and life styles sometimes tend to reduce the life span of people, advised christians to be mindful of what they eat and drink at all times in order to be healthy and live long, and prayed God to bless the Omogho royal family.
The Traditional ruler of Omogho, Igwe Offor thanked God for giving him and the wife health and long life, and expressed delight with the the level of prayers and support his people are giving to his family, praying God to bless and sustain them.
In their separate remarks, one of the daughters of the celebrant, Reverend Sister Juliet Offor of the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, and a son in-law to the family, Sir Tony Nweke of the Anambra State Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, described Lady Monica as prayerful and compassionate mother, who is always committed to rendering helping hands to other people at all times, and prayed God to bless her.
Earlier, the celebrant, Lady Monica , who said she was full of joy, thanked God for preserving her life in good health through her children; whom she described as wonderful, and also prayed God to bless all those who came to celebrate with her and the Offor royal family.
Cutting of the birthday cake added glamour to the event.
