The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mr Nnamdi Kanu has described killings of innocent people, destruction and unlawful restrictions of movement in the Southeast as senseless, insisting that such heinous acts are perpetrated by groups masquerading as Indigenous People of Biafra to give its struggle a bad identity.

Mr Kanu stated this when the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo paid him a visit at the detention facility of the Department of State Services in Abuja.

Mr Kanu expressed sadness over what he described as sacrilegious killings of innocent persons, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities, including the brutal enforcement of the senseless sit at home perpetuated by sundry groups claiming to be acting for or on behalf of Indigenous People of Biafra.

He assured that if giving the opportunity he will be glad to personally broadcast to his followers to maintain peace.

Governor Soludo said that he visited Mr Nnamdi Kanu to felicitate with him and also as part of the wider consultations with critical stakeholders in search of lasting peace and security in the South-East geopolitical zone.
