The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Barrister Mrs Patricia Igwebuike says the State Government is developing holistic policies to make transportation within the state seamless and facilitate commerce.
Barrister Igwebuike who outlined the priorities of the State Government on ABS radio programme, Tonimas Half Hour assured that such policies will favour every onye Anambra.
The Transport Commissioner revealed that the target of government is to ensure that time spent on the roads are reduced and announced that the team of experts will be in the State next week to come up with the right places where modern bus terminals will be located within the major cities in the state in order to address unnecessary gridlocks on the roads.
She also revealed the plan of the state government to ensure that every driver on Anambra roads is not only licensed to ply the roads but are properly trained in qualified driving school and possess the adequate knowledge of traffic rules.
Barrister Igwebuike also said the State Government will set up a mechanic village to maintain standard in repairs of vehicles plying the roads in the state.
She went further to reveal plans by the Anambra State Government to revamp the water transportation sector in the state and improve internal waterways to make it easier for someone in the hinterlands of Anambra West to travel to Onitsha or Ogbaru without road transportation or having to move through Delta State.
