Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Comrade Don Onyenji, has called on Ndigbo to embrace their culture to ensure peace and development of the society.

Correspondent, David Okpokwasili reports that the Commissioner stated this during an ABS programme titled ‘‘promoting Igbo cultural heritage’’

Commissioner Onyenji, who stated that Ndigbo are known for respect for elders, love for one another and hard work, wondered why things are now falling apart, and called for a cultural reorientation to correct the ugly trend.

He faulted the speculation that Igbo language would soon go into extinction, emphasizing that Ndigbo in the diaspora are now training their children to speak and write Igbo language.

Comrade Onyenji reminded people of Governor Soludo’s desire to revive Igbo cultural values; such as respect for elders, eating Igbo food and using Igbo fabrics, saying that the Governor’s desire is for the development of Igbo society.

He also emphasized that Governor Soludo is determined to identify and develop Museums and tourist sites in all the communities in Anambra, urging Ndi Anambra to support the Governor to achieve his good intentions for the State.

He called on Ndigbo to love themselves and be their brother’s keepers, even as he pleaded for calm to allow development continue in the State.
