The traditional Ruler of Awka community Obi Gibson Nwosu has charged members of the Rotary International to use their various positions in bringing the necessary transformation in the society.

 

Receiving the Governor of Rotary International district 9142 comprising all the States in the South-East geopolitical zone as well as Cross River and Akwa Ibom State Dr Okechukwu Okonkwo who visited him as part of activities lined up to mark the 2022 District Conference of the Rotary 9142, Obi Nwosu who regretted the high rate of moral decadence in the society challenged Rotary to evolve more measures to check the ugly trend.

The traditional Ruler of Awka Community while Commending Rotary for all its efforts to transform the society through humanitarian services, urged them to make more of their impact to felt in Awka the capital of Anambra State.

 

He used the opportunity to call on the people to always see those that made it through legitimate means as role models.

Obi Nwosu who thanked the Rotary international for choosing Awka as the venue for the 2022 District conference and reassured them of the support of Awka Community.

 

In a remark the Governor of Rotary International district 9142, Dr Okey Okonkwo who said that the aim of the visit was to inform the traditional Ruler of their District conference in Awka and to seek his blessings.

The District Governor was accompanied by the District Governor nominee designate, Professor Austin Nnonyelu, Assistant Governor of Rotary in charge of Zone 10 Rotarian Olachi Emegagor, Professor Nwogugu, past Assistant Governor Paul Ileka as well as the two-time president Rotary Club of Awka Nnamdi Azikiwe University Rotarian Abuchi Nwozor and Rotarian Ngozi Ossy Agbata the incoming President of the Rotary Club of Awka among others.

 

Some members of Eze-Uzu in council and Awka king makers were also present during he visit.
