The Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, has begun a two-day training of stakeholders and field officers for the 2022 National Personnel Audit, NPA, exercise in the state.

The exercise, scheduled to commence on Wednesday June eight 2022, is aimed at collecting data of personnel in the education system, the number of schools, and students’ enrollment among others for proper planning and distribution of resources.

Speaking at event, the state team leader of NPA, Mr. Edward Abaraka, affirmed that Anambra State is known for its quality education and for being at the forefront of ensuring that the education sector is in good shape.

He also stated that, unlike previous year’s exercises, this year’s own will include all basic education institutions across the country including private institutions.

According to Mr. Abaraka, the goal of the collection is to have up-to-date, accurate, and reliable data that can be used for proper resource planning and allocation.

While noting that the exercise covers both private and public basic institutions, Anambra State Coordinator of UBEC, Mr. Kingsley Nlewedim stressed that the training is important and warned that if not given the necessary attention, inaccurate data would jeopardize the result.

Earlier in a welcome address, the officer-in-charge of ASUBEB, Mrs. Ogochukwu Obi said that the training targets to equip the field officers to effectively implement the policy, urging

Participants to take the training seriously in order to have accurate knowledge for the exercise.
