The traditional Ruler of Umueri in Anambra East Local Government Area Igwe Benneth Emeka has called for the production of Hotel Directory in Anambra State.
Speaking on ABS Radio and Television Programme “Tonimas Half Hour” in Awka, Igwe Emeka who is a hotel proprietor in Anambra State said that the compilation of Hotel Directory in Anambra State will ensure easy identification of hotels across the state which he said will be a guide to prospective tourists.
He said that since the Hospitality Industry is playing a critical role in promoting tourism, efforts should be made by the government to encourage its growth and development.
Igwe Emeka, who regretted the high cost of hotel management in Nigeria, called for more government incentives in order not to be out of business due to the high cost of diesel.
He said that when the government continues to patronize hotels in Anambra State by holding their programmes and lodging their visitors there, it will go a long way in strengthening them.
Igwe Emeka Commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his different approaches to governance which he noted had resulted to relative peace in Anambra State.
Describing the relationship between hotel proprietors association and Anambra State Government as cordial, Igwe Emeka called on EEDC to come to their rescue by restoring steady power supply for enhanced businesses.
