Men of the Anambra State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have arrested a seven-man syndicate specialized in vandalizing electrical installations across Anambra State.

 

According to a statement by the State Commandant of the corps, Mr. Chukwudi Chikere, the arrest of the seven suspects, who were accused of terrorizing communities, vandalizing electrical installations, stealing and dispossessing residents of their belongings, was carried out over the week, following credible information by residents of Obeledu community and it’s environs.

Mr. Chikere explained that the command activated a combined team of Intelligence and Investigation operatives, who stormed Obeledu and arrested one Promise Chikamso, aged 32, from Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chinedu Onyimonyi, aged 34, Sunday Nwube, aged 32, Ejike Stephen Ogonna, aged 20, Solomon Nwafor, aged 28, all from Onueke, Johnson Chigozie, aged 23, from Ndiukwu Amaika, and Solomon Nwankwo, aged 22, from Okofia, all in Izza SouthLocal Government Areaof Ebonyi State.

 

He assured that the suspects will be charged to court after investigation, and appealed to members of the public to assist security agencies in the state by providing useful information that will assist in their operations.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include bundles of wire, 300 square UPV casing pipe, shifting spanners, and mud pump.
