The Anambra State Commissioner for Lands Professor Offornze Amaucheazi has appealed to some Communities in Orumba North local Government Area to resolve their land matters out of court to allow for development in their areas.
Commissioner Amaucheazi made the appeal when he hosted representatives of the various Communities which include Ozu, Ndiukwuenu, Okpeze, Ubani and Nkpogho Communities in his office at the government house in Awka.
The Commissioner promised them that the state government will release twenty percent of Land to all the Communities where the ancient Mamo Forest reserve was carved out from.
Professor Offornze warned them against encroaching on government land, saying that whoever does that does it at his own risk.
He regretted the manner some people invaded into government lands with impunity and warned such people to desist forthwith in their own interest.
The Commissioner for Lands informed them about Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda of turning Anambra State into a liveable mega city and urged them to support him by ensuring that peace reigns in their areas, as no meaningful development can thrive in a volatile area.
Commissioner Offornze advised them against shedding any blood on those lands as such blood would continue to hunt the culprits in generations to come.
While commending the various Communities and their legal counsels for coming to see him, the Commissioner expects that the matter should be resolved out of court before December this year to allow for immediate development of the areas.
