The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Anambra State Chapter, has proposed strategic programmes to reduce youth unemployment and rising social vices in the society.

 

The association disclosed this when it paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, at the station’s co-operate headquarters, Awka.

The NYCN executive members led by the Anambra State’s Chairman, Mr Obi Emeka Chukwudi, while congratulating Sir Chido on his appointment as ABS boss, briefed him on the forthcoming unveiling of an ICT programme in the state, scheduled for nineth of this month, and sought partnership with ABS for the success of the association’s activities in the states.

 

The NYCN State Chairman commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for being youth-minded in his appointments, and promised that youths of Anambra State will give him adequate support in order to achieve his plans for a better Anambra State.

Receiving the delegation, the ABS boss, Sir Chido, explained that Governor Soludo has the interest of Anambra youths at heart, and called on youths to be part of the solution process and say something whenever they see something.

 

Sir Chido called on youths to engage meaningfully in lucrative agriculture and to explore empowerment programmes initiated by the government.

In his remarks, the Anambra State Secretary of NYCN, Comrade Nwabueze Maduako, commended ABS for its outstanding performances, and promised to take the good plans of Governor Soludo to the grassroots.

 

In attendance to receive the delegation made up of Anambra State Director of ICT, NYCN, Comrade Kenneth Ezekwe, among others, was the National Vice President, Radio Television and Theater Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU, South East Zone, Prince Emeka Kalu.
