The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Chief Neville Uchendu says the people of Orumba South have resolved to give maximum support to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, at all times.

 

Speaking during the inauguration of the Orumba South Transition Committee Members at the Council Headquarters Umunze, Chief Uchendu charged the members to see their appointment as a call to duty by being true representatives of their various communities and work closely with their traditional rulers and Presidents-General for the peace and progress of their areas.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo for appointing them to render service to Orumba South, assuring that they will continue to advance programmes and policies of the state government.

 

Chief Uchendu who noted that having been conducted round the offices in the council during his first day in office and identified most of the problems in the council, promised to solve the problems with the help of the Transition Committee Members and staff of the council.

Some of the Orumba South Stakeholders who spoke during the event including two former chairmen of the Local Government Area, Chiefs Cyprian Okereke and Bennet Ibekwe, Sir Eric Eze, Chief Ogechukwu Nduche and Chief Josiah Okoli, commended Chief Uchendu for his zeal to bring meaningful development to the council area and urged the Committee Members to give him the necessary support.

 

Speaking in an interview, one of the inaugurated Transition Committee Members representing Owerre-Ezukala ward two, Mr Johnclem Onuzulike, thanked Governor Soludo for appointing them to serve their people and assured that they will join hands with Chief Uchendu in moving Orumba South forward.

The occasion which was attended by APGA Chieftains, civil servants, frontline politicians as well as the Orumba South Chairman of the Traditional Ruler’s Council, Igwe Clifford Okeke of Nawfijah among others, featured swearing in of the transition committee members by the Chief Magistrate of Orumba South Magistrate Court, Mr. Nnaemeka Nnacheta.
