A total number of One Thousand and twenty-five graduands of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, NOCEN, have been inducted into Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN, as qualified teachers.

 

The ceremony took place at the College’s auditorium, and those inducted include graduands from Professional Diploma in Education, PDE, Bachelors of Education, B. ED, and National Certificate for Education, NCE.

speaking while administering the oath at the Seventh TCRN induction ceremony, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of TRCN, Professor Josiah Ajiboye, said that the event was most important legal basis of admission into the profession and a condition for a professional practice while revealing that the council was established by TRCN Decree 31 of 1993 now TRCN ACT CAP T3 of 2004 to regulate and control the teaching profession.

 

Professor Ajiboye represented by the Acting Director Professional Operations TRCN, Mr. Abimbola Ahmed while describing teachers as indispensable tool in human capital development of any nation, charged them to always strive to improve their knowledge on daily bases especially on Information Communication and Technology in order to impact positively on their students in the present world where digital literacy rules.

On her part, the Provost of the College, Dr. Ifeyinwa Osegbo represented by Dr Azubuike Ndu, congratulated the graduands for proving themselves worthy in character and learning as required by the college and urged them to always ensure that they uphold the teaching profession in high professional standard.

 

Earlier, the Chairman on the Occasion, Dr. Chidi Nwanekezi, described teaching profession as noble and appealed to the graduands to work within the ethics of the teaching profession.

Speaking on behalf of the new inductees, Ms Afoma Nwachukwu and Rita Obi, pledged to be good ambassadors of the college and carry out their work professionally.
