The Anambra Professional Photographers and Videographers Association, has paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu to mark World Photography Day .

 

The leader of APPVA Awka Branch, Mr Obinna Okonkwo led other members of the union on the visit.

World Photography Day is an annual, worldwide celebration that takes place on 19th August to celebrate photography, art form , craft, science and it’s history .

 

The day also encourages photographers from around the globe to share single photo that encapsulates their world and moment.

In his speech , Mr Obinna congratulated Sir Chido on his appointment as Managing Director of ABS and pledged that they will strengthen partnership with ABS especially in the area of training and re-traning of cameramen.

 

He also harped on the need for state government to add photography into skill acquisition trainings for young people in the state, stating that they are ready to be offer technical support.

Responding, Sir Chido said photography which has become a very important mode of communication in the digital world has evolved a lot over the years, assuring them of his determination not to disappoint them and Ndi Anambra in carrying out his duties.

 

The theme of World Photography Day 2022 is “Pandemic Lockdown through the lens.”

The day also encourages photographers from around the globe to share single photos that encapsulates their world and moment.

 

Speaking, on the essence of the day, the leader of team, Mr. Obinna Okonkwo, congratulated Sir Chido on his appointment as the managing director of the ABS and pledged that they will strengthen partnership with the establishment especially in the area of training and re-training of cameramen.

 

Mr. Okonkwo also harped on the need for state government to add photography into skill acquisition trainings it organizes for young people in the state, assuring their readiness to give technical support.
