Anambra State Association of Town Unions ASATU says the State has truly reflected it sobriquet as the light of the nation and has witnessed tremendous development in all spheres of the economy.

 

The association made this known through its President, Chief Titus Akpudo while congratulating the State on her thirty-first anniversary.

 

He noted that through the military regimes and democratic era, governments in the state laid monumental legacies that place the State on the world map.

 

Chief Akpudo who is also a legal practitioner while, highlighting the achievements of the former governors Chris Ngige and Peter Obi, said their focus on giving the State a massive road network and other giant developmental projects including excellent performance in education gave the state many laurels.

 

The ASATU President also praised immediate past governor Willie Obiano for his vision and mission which he accomplished by constructing the International Cargo and Passenger Airport Umueri, International Convention Center in Awka and many infrastructure.

 

He also commended the Willie Obiano government for the twenty million-naira community choose your project initiative which saw communities in the State develop commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for sustaining the initiative and increasing the funding to twenty-five million naira.

 

He explained that Professor Soludo’s security architecture has drastically reduced crime in the state, commending his moves to restore peaceful, livable and prosperous Anambra.

 

He observed that the peace initiative by the present administration has led to the conduct of elections in various town unions and advised the government to sustain her efforts in security by providing operational vehicles for community vigilante services.

 

For the Acting Youth President of ASATU, Comrade Nkwado Chukwuemeka-Onwughalu, the youths will continue to support the government for the sustenance of policies.
