A Notable politician and philanthropist in the state, Mr Uche Okonkwo popularly known as Ani Okonkwo has donated five standing fans and a big generator to the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, to augment equipment in the station for effective service delivery.
Mr Okonkwo who is the Labour Party Flag bearer for Idemili North and South Federal constituency in the forthcoming general elections, made the donations through a delegation who brought the items to the ABS cooperate Headquarters in Awka.
The standing fans donated by the philanthropist were three industrial and two office fans.
Speaking at presentation the representative of Mr Okonkwo, Prince Anayo Okoli explained that the gesture was part of the numerous philanthropic Acts of his boss whom he said has in various capacities assisted societal development.
Prince Okoli noted that the donation was also a way of supporting the present Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration and ABS which he rated best in information gathering and dissemination.
Responding, the Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu thanked Mr Okonkwo for the donations which he described as a response to the clarion call of Governor Soludo for Ndi Anambra irrespective of party or religious affiliation to support his administration for the actualization of the dreamed livable state for Ndi Anambra.
Sir Chido stressed that the government of Professor Soludo is for all and not just for APGA faithful, hence the need for every onye Anambra to support the government.
