As the world marks the 2022 International Day to Protect Education from Attack the Federal Government says it will not renege on its responsibility of protecting schools in the country from attack.

 

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu in his address to commemorate the day which is the third edition since its proclamation in 2020 by the United Nations General Assembly, noted that the essence of the Day is to create awareness on myriads of issues confronting the education system and draw attention to the need to promote the right to education, protect education against insecurity, emergency and humanitarian situations as well as strengthen efforts and increase funding, to encourage safe and protective environments in areas of humanitarian emergencies.

 

The Minister reaffirmed that the government has the primary responsibility of providing protection and ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education at all levels for learners, especially those in vulnerable situations.
