The serenity of Enugwu Ukwu community in Njikoka local government area was perforated this evening when sound of gun shots rented the air, for quite some time around the Nkwo market road in the area.
Reports say Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy was attacked in the gun duel.
According to reports, the senator was ambushed by heavily armed gang who opened fire on his convoy.
Some of his aides were feared killed, including some security personnel.
Meanwhile the Anambra state Commissioner of Police Mr Echeng Echeng, has led a response team to the scene.
A press release by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga reads in part. . .
”The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command CP Echeng Echeng has today (11/9/2022) led Operatives to the scene where sporadic shootings took place in Enugwu-ukwu”.
According to Mr Tochukwu, the details of the incident is still sketchy, though operatives are on ground there as operations was going on and the situation is being monitored.
