Saturday 17th September 2022 made it exactly six months since Governor Chukwuma Soludo was sworn into office as the Governor of Anambra State.
To Mark the day, Governor Soludo went round the state to flag off road projects with a view to delivering key infrastructures for the enthronement of a livable and prosperous Anambra State.
Among the roads flagged off for immediate construction include, the twenty-six kilometers Amansea-Awba-ofemili road which will cut across Ebenebe, Ugbene and Ugbenu communities in Awka North Local Government Area, expected to be completed in sixteen months.
The second one was the twenty-six point two kilometers Ufuma to Amansea road, connecting Awa, Ndiukwuenu and Okpeze communities in Orumba North Local Government Area.
Others include, the failed portion of Isuofia-Igboukwu road which is six hundred meters in length with solid drainage system to permanently provide solution to flooding and the Akpaka layout which is over seven kilometers.
The Governor during the flag off was particular about roads that are strategic towards easing the sufferings of the people and boosting the economic activities in the state.
He said that the Ufuma to Amansea road will be completed in four months while the Isuofia to Igboukwu road will be handed over by November ending and the Akpaka layout when completed is expected to decongest the traffic within in some parts of Onitsha.
He promised to deploy the state limited resources to work for the people, providing basic infrastructure for a better Anambra and especially Onitsha and its environs.
The Governor noted that road infrastructure is one of the major key deliverables and major enablers for the livable and prosperous Anambra State.
Governor Soludo had on Wednesday flagged off nine roads that amounted to over fourteen kilometers in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area and Mmiata Anam to Nzam road, Anambra West local government area.
The Mmili John road in Ojoto, Idemili South council area was not left out, as Mr Governor was there to flag off its reconstruction.
With the over sixty Kilometers of road projects flagged off the it has brought the number to a total of eighty kilometers of roads commenced within the first six months of his administration.
The Chief of staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, the state Commissioner for works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma, among others were part of the event.
