Anambra State has emerged the winner of the 2022, South East, All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools quiz competition.

 

The state clinched the top positions in the junior and senior categories with Maryam Ekesi, of Girls Secondary School, Awka emerging winner in the senior category while Miss Njoku Munachi of Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha emerged winner in the junior category.

 

 

The competition took place at the All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, Mandatory Continuing Professional Training held in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

 

In her reaction, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh congratulated the students for making Anambra proud.

 

She stated that the mandatory professional training was in line with the continuous teacher upgrade program of the Soludo administration and expressed appreciation to the South-East ANCOPSS for organizing the professional training session which provided a platform for Anambra State to demonstrate that Governor Soludo’s efforts in education is yielding the desired results.

 

Also speaking, the President of Anambra State branch of ANCOPSS, Mr Jovita Arazu attributed the victory to Governor Soludo’s support, adding that it was his passion and commitment to the education of umu-akwukwo Anambra that led to the feat.

 

The State Debate Coordinator, Mrs Amaka Anaekwe, said that with the feat, the state will represent the South East region in Bauchi state for the finals of the competition.

 

The South East quiz competition is an annual event of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, where the South-East states lock horns to decide their representatives at the national competition.
