Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inaugurated the new executive of Anambra State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, to pilot the affairs of the council for four years.
The inauguration ceremony held in Awka, the Anambra State capital, attracted youths from different parts of the state, and marked the end of the chapter’s leadership training with the theme, “Proactive Youth Leadership: The Solution For Economy, Peaceful and Livable Homeland”.
Inaugurating the new NYCN executive, Governor Soludo, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim encouraged youths in the state to contribute their quota to the development of the state as proposed by the present administration, which he said has the interest of the youths at heart.
The Governor emphasized the need for youths in the state to be law abiding in their daily activities, adding that the government has zero tolerance for crime and criminality of any form.
Contributing, the state Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Agha Mba asked the youths to be supportive of the Professor Chukwuma Soludo administration, which he described as youth-friendly, even as he charged the new Chairman of the state chapter of the council to run all-inclusive leadership in order to excel.
On their parts, the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, the Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Soludo, Mr Chinedu Nwoye, encouraged the youths to work hard and make good use of their God-given talents, shun cultism for their own benefit and that of their families.
The Deputy President of NYCN, Comrade Innocent Nduanya, and APGA flag bearer for Anambra State House of Assembly, Awka North Constituency, in the forthcoming general elections, Mr Chimezie Ikwunne assured that youths in the state will not disappoint the government of Professor Soludo, and encouraged fellow youths to participate actively in the elections in order to enthrone leaderships that will ensure equitable distribution of democracy dividends at all levels of governance.
In his handover speech, the immediate past Chairman of the state chapter of NYCN, Comrade Samuel Egwuatu reminded members of the council of the need to work together as a team to achieve common goals.
In a remark, the newAnambra State chapter Chairman of NYCN, Surveyor Emeka Obi, who called for support of members, promised to carry everybody along in his leadership, and to ensure protection of rights of youths in the state.
During the event, the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Ibezim received an award as Grand Commander of Anambra youths.
