Governor Chukwuma Soludo has felicitated with the Chairman of Pokobros Group West African Limited, Chief Paul Okonkwo on his eightieth birthday as well as his wife, Florence who attained sixty.

The Governor felicitated with the couple during a thanksgiving mass in their honour.

The Mass was celebrated by Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke at Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Cathedral, Onitsha.

Governor Soludo said that for one to attain such an age calls for celebration recalling the Anambra State Burial law, which essence is to cut down waste of fund and celebrate life more abundantly.

He recalled thousands of Ndi Anambra who were displaced by deluge and are quartered in various camps, pointing out that while government is doing its best, public spirited individuals should rise up and visit them.

In a homily, the Bishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas Benson Okoye attested to Chief Okonkwo’s act of charity and kindness.

Bishop Okoye lamented that there are many people in all facets of human endeavour who are not contented with God’s gift to them, let alone serving Him and appreciated Chief Okonkwo’s wife for always playing the supportive role.

Chief Okonkwo expressed happiness that God allowed him to attain the age of eighty and his wife sixty asking God to bless the people for celebrating them.
