As part of its social responsibilities, Globacom Telecommunication, the sponsor of the 2022 Ofala Onitsha Festival, has put smiles on the faces of its subscribers through promos and raffle draws during the 2022 ofala Onitsha Festival.
Items won were Electric Sewing Machines, Grinding Machines and Tricycles popularly known as Keke.
The items were presented to their winners during the Azu Ofala Onitsha Festival, by Igwe Alfred Achebe, at Imeobi, Awka Road Onitsha.
Over the years, Globacom has continued to identify with Ofala Onitsha Festival with exciting packages for their subscribers aimed at empowering them.
Presenting the prizes in company of some cabinet members of Obi in council, the Globacom South East Regional Manager, Mr. Michael Ehumadu, said that Globacom Limited has come to support the people of Onitsha, strengthen and uplift the existing relationship between the telecommunication industry and Igwe Achebe, promising more exciting packages for their subscribers.
Some of the subscribers that won Electric Sewing machines, including Chief Chris Nwenyi, Trophy Ibeabuchi, Joseph Emmanuel as well as Miss Ukamaka Orji, who won Grinding Machine, expressed joy and gratitude to God and thanked Globacom for the gifts and pledged their unalloyed patronage to the telecome company.
The winners of Tricycles, Mr. Vincent Ogbu, and Mr. Chuka Amene said that they got the information through a telephone call and expressed gratitude to God for the gift and promised to remain loyal to Globacom Limited.
Meanwhile, the Azu Ofala Festival, which featured outing and cultural display by various age grades in Onitsha, had winners go home with cash prizes of hundred thousand naira each from Globacom.
The Chairman, 2022 Ofala Onitsha Festival Planning Committee, Chief Mike Areh, expressed joy over the success of this year’s Ofala festival and explained that the Azu Ofala Festival, is meant for indigenes of Onitsha to pay homage to their king, urging the younger generations to keep the Onitsha culture and tradition alive.
