A non-governmental organization, Prophet Ernest Chukwuemeka Nwankwo Foundation has visited some Internally Displaced Person’s Camps in some parts of the state.
The members of the foundation, led by its founder, Prophet Ernest Nwankwo visited Unity Camp Umuoba Anam and St. Joseph Memorial High School Camp, Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area as well as Crowther Primary School Onitsha Camp with some food items.
While addressing the displaced persons, Prophet Nwankwo, who is also the general overseer, Holy Family Happy Family Ministry World Wide, consoled and advised them to have patience as the flood will soon recede for them to move back to their base and prayed God to protect them.
Reacting, the president general of Umuoba-Anam, Mr. Victor Meoba and the Unity Camp Supervisor, Mr. Chukwunonso Anija, thanked the prophet and his foundation members for the donation and prayed God to bless them even as they solicited for government assistance in the area of farm seedlings and implements.
At St. Joseph Memorial High School Camp Aguleri, the personal assistant to Prophet Nwankwo, Mr. Daniel Samuel assured the people that they are not alone and urged them to put their trust and hope in God as the water will soon recede.
In his response, the camp coordinator, Mr. Alex Onyibo, who disclosed that the camp is housing over four hundred displaced persons, thanked the foundation for its support.
At Crowther Primary School, Onitsha Camp, housing over one thousand and eighty persons, the camp supervisor, Dame Theresa Okoye, thanked the foundation for the food items it donated to the camp and listed their challenges to include lack of Mattress, Blankets and Mats as well as fire wood for cooking and called on government, good spirited individuals to come to their aid.
Speaking, one of the board members of the foundation, Mr. Val Oguejiofor, described the founder of their foundation as a humanitarian prophet disclosing that it has been the tradition of the foundation to bring succor to the vulnerable in the society and advised the people to see flooding as a natural disaster which must surely pass away.
