Anambra State Government has inaugurated the State Health Research Ethics Committee.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike who Inaugurated the Committee said that their objectives are to achieve results and save the lives of the people through research findings that will inform decisions.
Dr. Obidike told the Committee to take charge of research in the state, and that organisations, individuals and the Ministry of Health will work together to find out the causes of some health issues in the state through their research work.
He said that there is always a need to research the prevalence of diseases, noting that the committee will do the research, interpret and help guide individuals and their thesis, as research expands knowledge.
The committee would be chaired by Professor John Eleje and has Co-Chairman as Dr. Chukwunonso Nnebo who is an associate Professor.
The Commissioner further noted that Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration is using a holistic approach to tackle, as well address health issues across the state.
The Chairman of the committee, Professor Eleje thanked the Anambra State Government for constituting the committee and assured of their commitment to discharge their duties accordingly and efficiently.
