Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has pledged the commitment of his administration to build more strategic roads and link more communities in the state.
Governor Soludo gave the assurance when he inspected bad roads in Nnewi.
The roads include Ogbufo, Okpunoeze leading to Teaching Hospital and Nkwo Nnewi, Umudim, among others.
Professor Soludo assured that the contractor would commence work on the road projects as soon as the rain abates, adding that he decided to visit the roads himself just to ensure that the resources of the people will be put to good use.
The Governor said that the design for more roads across the state is ongoing, and he is committed to building over two hundred and twenty kilometers of roads across the state before the end of December this year.
He assured that his government is about the people, assuring that as long as the common people in the streets of Anambra feel the impact of the government, the essence of his administration would have been achieved, calling for more support.
At the different spots visited, the Governor was welcomed with chants of joy as he interacted with the people.
One elderly man who spoke from the crowd, appreciated the Governor for redefining governance, saying that it gladdens their hearts that the governor could make out time to ply the roads and ascertain their conditions by himself, pledging that as long as his administration continues to tilt towards the masses, his support base would continue to grow.
