Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Daniel Okeke as the Auditor-General of the State and Chief Celestine Anaere an Engineer as the Managing Director and Superintendent-General of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA BRIGADE.

 

House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that before their confirmation, they were screened by the House Committee on Screening and Election Matters which certified them worthy in learning and character to occupy their respective positions.

At plenary, the Chairman House Committee on Screening and Election Matters and Deputy Speaker of the House, Dr. Paschal Agbodike presented the report of the committee which adjudged them suitably qualified to serve Anambra State in their positions.

 

Thereafter, Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Uche Okafor read out their confirmation while the lawmakers supported it through voice vote

 

In his speech, Right Honourable Okafor charged them to work in partnership with the House for the benefit of the people.

Also at plenary, the House passed the 2023-2025 Anambra State Multiyear Budget Expenditure Framework document as presented by the Deputy Chairman House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr Nonso Smart-Okafor as working document of the House.

 

The House also renewed the tenure of the Transition Committee Chairmen for the twenty-one Local Government Areas in Anambra State for another three months in line with the Local government law.

 

In their separate speeches, the Transition committee Chairman of Ayamelum Local Government Area, Chief Livinus Onyenwe and his Orumba South counterpart, Chief Neville Uchendu appreciated the House and Governor Soludo for giving them another opportunity to serve their people, assuring that they will redouble their efforts to surpass their previous performances in their respective Local government areas.
