The Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has dismissed as untrue, the allegation that Anambra State Government is collecting tax of three hundred naira from school children within the state.

 

Commissioner Chuma-Udeh said that in order to ameliorate hardship in the state, government has reduced fees payable in schools from what it used to be.

 

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Education, Mr. Nnaemeka Egwuonwu noted that Commissioner Chuma-Udeh appealed to parents to report to her immediately any case of extortion of school children.
