The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has called on Christians to continue to have faith in the resurrection of Christ because it is the base of the Christian faith.
Bishop Ezeokafor made the call during his pastoral visit to St Mathew’s Catholic Church Amawbia, in Awka South Local Government Area.
Bishop Ezeokafor while encouraging people to repent from their evil ways warned that there is no repentance in the grave and noted that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is true evidence that the faithful will rise again on the last day and warned Christians against joining secret cult noting that it is difficult to come out once entered.
Shortly after the church service, during the youth summit and empowerment program organized by Bishop Ezeokafor, the Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Comrade Don Onyenji commended the bishop for organizing such program for the youths and enjoin the youths to take the programme seriously in their own interest.
While informing them that the journey to greatness is not easy, Comrade Onyenji appealed to the youths to ensure that they have skills that will help them to become self-reliant.
Speaking at the event, the chairman on the occasion, Mr. Clems Ezedinachi called on the youths to love God and have respect for their parents in order to live a long life.
The youths were seen practicing various skills they learnt during the event.
