Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Transport has commended the Anambra Traffic Management Agency for removing obstructions that hindered free vehicular movement in Anambra State.

 

The committee made the commendation when they embarked on a familiarization visit to the Agency in Awka.

The committee which spoke through its Chairman, Honourale Patrick Udeoba observed that Anambra roads has witnessed free flow of human and vehicular movements in recent times which showed that Anambra Traffic Management Agency is discharging its duties creditably.

 

The committee however called on the management of Anambra Traffic Management Agency to organize a reorientation exercise for its erring staff to curtail their excesses.

It pledged to partner the agency to realize the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the transport sector, even as it called on the people of Anambra State to always obey traffic rules and regulations.

 

In his remarks, the Managing Director of Anambra Traffic Management Agency, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo explained that they are committed to decongesting Anambra State by ensuring that Ndi Anambra always obey traffic rules put in place by the state government to guarantee free flow of human and vehicular movements in the State.

He urged the people of Anambra State to desist from abandoning their rickety vehicles on roads and flouting road safety rules warning that anybody caught will be punished accordingly.
